Northern Lights in a Dog yard KMphoto-Expeditions - Svalbard Villmarkssenter After picking you up from your accommodation, we drive out to the dog kennel in Adventdalen, where you can meet our lovely pack of around 50 Alaskan Huskies. Between the months of May and August, our dogyard is surrounded by the 3rd biggest Eider Duck colony in the Icefjords (over 250 nesting birds). Here you have all the time you need for the pictures and during that always the opportunity to get warm again in the camp. When we finished the tour inside the dog kennel we will tell you some more about the life on Svalbard, the work with the dogs and why Svalbard is such a special place to us. Then we have dinner together before we go for a walk to set up our cameras to get some Northern Light photos. We will help you out with the perfect settings for the camera to get the best possible pictures. Close by we can find places with no light pollution and some great options to play with reflections in water / ice. The absolutely undisturbed darkness here during the polar night even offers the opportunity to have a try at astrophotography.
