From snowmobile ride to an ice climbing adventure

Go beyond the touristic trail and learn how to climb an ice wall and ride a snowmobile.

This is not just another excursion but an adventure to experience Svalbard in its most exhilarating and extraordinary surroundings. Reach an ice wall deep in the wilderness where you can only go by riding a snowmobile. You will be driving the snowmobile yourself and will be provided with the necessary equipment to do so (scooter dress, balaclava, helmet and mittens). You'll be immersed in the raw beauty of Svalbard’s rugged mountains and glaciers, with incredible views that add to the thrill of the climb.

The landscape will be our playground of an untouched valley and the hidden ice wall. Here the ice is crisp and every swing of the axe will send a feeling of triumph through your veins. Whether you’re a seasoned climber or a first-timer exploring new adventures, or even if it is your first time riding a snowmobile, our expert guide will ensure a safe and unforgettable ride and climb.
The combination of riding a snowmobile, climbing an ice wall, and enjoying the spectacular scenery creates an unforgettable Arctic experience.

Highlights:
1. Ride your own snowmobile into the arctic wilderness
2. Climb an ice wall
3. Exclusive small group experience
4. Breathtaking scenery
5. Far from the touristic trail
6. Professional climbing instructor

Do I have to be an experienced climber?

No, but please be aware that it is suitable for those in above-average physical condition. Not recommended for those with limited mobility (uneven, steep, and challenging terrain). Whether you’re trying ice climbing for the first time or are a seasoned pro, our experienced ice climbing instructors will tailor the experience to suit your skill level, ensuring a safe and exciting climb.

Can I drive the snowmobile myself?

Yes, but to drive a snowmobile in Svalbard, you must have a driver’s license for passenger car/class B. In addition, a physical driver’s license is compulsory.
The driver’s license must have been issued in a country that is a party to the Geneva Convention of 1949 or the Vienna Convention of 1968 on road traffic. All driving licences from EU/EEA countries meet this requirement.
If you do not wish to drive yourself then contact us directly to see if we can arrange a driver (for added extra cost).

For safety reasons, all passengers must be able to understand and communicate in either Norwegian or English. If this is not possible, the passenger must be accompanied by someone who is fluent in one of these languages.
