Join us for an eventful ATV Safari leaving Longyearbyen to explore Adventdalen and to meet our fluffy husky friends at Svalbard Husky! If you’d like to combine some sightseeing outside Longyearbyen, husky cuddles and exploration of the landscapes close to town in one trip, then this half-day adventure got you covered. Our guide will pick you up from your accommodation and drive you to our activity centre for a pre-trip briefing and kit you out with the equipment you’ll need before jumping onto the ATVs. This is a trip suited for most people, both those that have and haven’t driven ATVs before. After getting a simple introduction to the ATVs with our guide you’re ready to leave town behind and head eastwards into our neighbouring valley Adventdalen, where historical sites and an expansive landscape mix together. The driving on this trip is done on the road to avoid damaging and leaving tracks in the vulnerable protected tundra surrounding us. Along the way we’ll make several stops on the way where it’ll be possible to jump off the ATVs to get a closer look at the nature, views and cultural heritage sites which our guide will gladly share countless stories about. Well drive towards the innermost part of Adventdalen to a viewpoint granting us a view back across the landscape we’ve driven through, with Longyearbyen and the expansive Isfjorden visible in the west. While the view is nice, the coziest stop on our trip still remains. Close by we’ll find Svalbard Husky’s dog yard where we’ll stop to say hi to their lovely pack of huskies and enjoy some hot drinks and cookies while we’re there should you wish to. Heading back through the valley it’s not uncommon to spot a Svalbard reindeer or two grazing on the plains, and in the summer months the valley is home to a diverse birdlife. As autumn comes back with its shorter days we’re surrounded by beautiful autumn colours out on the tundra, maybe with the addition of a few snow-sprinkled mountain tops in the distance. No matter the time of year, this is a half-day adventure packed with experiences. With two departures a day it’s easy to combine an ATV Safari with other activities in town! What you’ll experience and do on this trip: - A different kind of sightseeing experience, with stops next to cultural heritage sites, a viewpoint and a dog yard on the way. - Beginner-friendly ATV driving with our Can-Am Outlander ATVs. - Husky cuddles and hot drinks with cookies served in a dog yard. - Storytelling by our experienced guide.
