A tailor-made tour that combines sightseeing in Longyearbyen, a visit to the Global Seed Vault, the chance to experience the Northern Lights, and a memorable visit to Svalbard Villmarkssenter’s husky kennel.
Experience some of Svalbard’s most fascinating attractions on a private guided tour that blends Arctic history, science, stunning landscapes, and authentic local culture.
After being picked up from your accommodation or the harbor, we begin with a sightseeing drive through Longyearbyen and a stop at the world-famous Global Seed Vault. Deep within the permafrost lies the world's largest secure seed storage facility, safeguarding seeds from across the globe. Your guide will explain the importance of the Seed Vault and Svalbard’s unique role in international research, science, and conservation.
As soon as the nights become dark enough, there is sometimes an opportunity to witness the Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis. When conditions are favorable, with clear skies and sufficient auroral activity, your guide will take you to carefully selected locations where you can enjoy this spectacular natural phenomenon dancing across the Arctic sky.
Before returning to your accommodation, the tour concludes with a visit to Svalbard Villmarkssenter’s husky kennel in Adventdalen. Here you will meet our friendly Alaskan huskies and learn more about dog sledding, Arctic life, and the important role working dogs have played in Svalbard’s history.
If Northern Lights activity is low or cloud cover prevents viewing, more time can be spent sightseeing, visiting the dogs, or learning about the science behind the Aurora through an informative presentation featuring Northern Lights and sled dog photography.
Please note: The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed. Visibility depends entirely on weather conditions, cloud cover, and solar activity.
