I must be dreaming - 2 day Arctic snowmobile expedition going SOUTH
Ready to explore unknown routes? Immersing yourself into the Arctic wilderness, driving up to remote and more unknown areas, away from the crowds!?
Join our 2-day snowmobile expedition towards the Southern part of Spitsbergen, with Camp Morton, visiting an ice cave and passing by Barentsburg as one of our highlights during this tour.
This expedition is for those who seek to drive beyond the “regular” tourist destinations and prefer traveling in a small group.
It is showtime! Early morning we will pick you up from your accommodation to transfer you to our basecamp where we will get ready for our expedition. We will provide you with all needed equipment such as suits, boots, helmets, balaclavas, mittens and goggles. After a safety instruction from your guide we are good to go!
We will drive outside town into the Adventvalley and it won’t take long before we leave this large valley behind us an make a turn into the valley called Todalen. From here we will have two days remoteness and pure Arctic beauty around us!
Along our way we will make several stops to enjoy the nature around us, your guide will tell you more about the area we are in and we will enjoy a warm lunch and drinks along the way. Driving over a glacier, passing through deep valleys and reaching the sea ice are one of the highlights of our day. We will make our way towards Van Mijenfjorden for a great view over the fjord. Don’t forget to be on the lookout for wildlife as many wildlife tracks have been seen here. At the end of a fantastic day outdoors we will stop at our wilderness camp for a welcoming warm meal and a good night sleep.
Enjoy the warmth of the stove in our tent and take a goodnight sleep as tomorrow is another full day of adventure! Don’t forget we all need to participate in our Polar bear watch at night.
Day 2 - I don’t want to go home.. After a hearty breakfast and a hot cup of coffee, we'll head back out into the wilderness to explore even more of southern Spitsbergen. We will make our way towards an ice cave for a visit. Did you know that this ice dates back to thousands of years?! You will be impressed!
Driving back along the coastline we will pass by great viewing points and the mining town Barentsburg. This will be a full day exploring the Arctic before we make our way back to town.
Our adventure finishes in style as we cross one final glacier, revealing panoramic views over Longyearbyen. A fitting finale to an unforgettable expedition. Back within mobile phone range, you'll finally be able to share your photos and stories from two incredible days in the Arctic.

No previous snowmobile experience is needed. Your guide will provide clear instructions, and we'll begin at a comfortable pace to help everyone gain confidence. You can choose to drive your own snowmobile or, if traveling with someone else, share a snowmobile and swap drivers throughout the expedition.
