Want to enjoy the sunset or the midnight sun at one of the most beautiful bay’s on Svalbard? Drive with us through stunning valleys and over high glaciers to reach the abandoned Soviet settlement in Colesbay. On this trip you will experience a diverse landscape with amazing views under the everlasting evening sun on Svalbard! Our adventure starts when we will pick you up from your accommodation and drive you to our basecamp. After a safety briefing and changing into the right clothes, we are ready to start our snowmobile experience into the wilderness. Our journey will start with a short drive through town towards the Longyear glacier, we will drive up the glacier and will already be amazed by the view we will have over town on one side and the mountains on the other side. Don’t forget to take photos of the lowering sun touching the mountains, giving amazing colors! We will continue our route to Colesbay, driving our snowmobile through a variety of landscapes with massive snow covered mountains. At Colesbay we will take our time to explore this interesting abandoned place, taking photos and enjoying our warm drinks and warm expedition food under the midnight sun of Svalbard. A perfect evening in true Arctic surroundings! It is not an issue if you do not have previous snowmobile experience. We will give clear instructions and we will start easy to get you into the flow! This trip is about 80km-90km on snowmobiles.
