Drive your own dog sled to the amazing Scott Turner Glacier (access only by dog sled from 1. March). The glacier is like an amphitheater, with mountains surrounding the ice on 3 sides. In our cozy cabin we light a fire with birch wood and eat a light lunch. We give the dogs a well-deserved rest, so we can enjoy the silence and the surroundings in peace and quiet. Our cabin also has an outdoor toilet, which can be practical on a full-day trip. We pick up our guests at the hotel they are staying at, at the specified time for the start of the tour. As we pick up from several hotels, it may take a few minutes before we are there. By car, the trip goes to Green Dog's Kennel, which is located 12 km outside Longyearbyen. There you will be given clothes for the trip and an introduction to dog sledding. You drive 2 and 2 on each dog sled, and swap driving the sled and sitting on it. The guide drives in front, with two guests on the sled. The trip goes up through Bolterdalen valley to the moraine landscape where the climb begins - here it may be necessary to help get the sleds uphill. The landscape and pace vary! You stop at the destination of the trip, the beautiful Scott Turner Glacier. Here the dogs get a well-deserved rest and a bite to eat. We eat a light lunch and have plenty of time to enjoy the glacier before we start the return journey. The dogs have rested, and we go downhill in Bolterdalen, so now it is actually time to slow down the sled's speed. Once back in the dog kennel we help each other to get the dogs back to their houses, before we finish with waffles and coffee – and maybe say hello to the puppies..
